Israel-Palestine Committee

Mission Statement

The Israel-Palestine Committee of Brooklyn For Peace strives to provide accurate and unbiased information about the conflict in Israel, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and the region, and to organize and encourage actions leading to justice with peace in the region. We encourage an exchange of views among all Brooklyn residents, many of whom have roots and family connections in Israel or Palestine.

Brooklyn For Peace's position statement sets forth our stance supporting equal rights, international law, and a negotiated solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The Israel-Palestine Committee meets monthly on weekday evenings to develop educational materials and to plan activities such as forums, meetings with elected officials, vigils, and demonstrations. We participate with other groups in interfaith dialogues and other activities.
We also sponsor a reading group to educate ourselves about the history of this conflict and the many complexities of the current situation. A current events discussion group also meets periodically to focus in more depth on current events.

Brooklyn For Peace is a member group of the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation http://www.endtheoccupation.org/

Anyone interested in our work is welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about getting involved. E-mail us at is.pales@brooklynpeace.org or call 718-624-5921 for information about date, time, and location of our next meeting.
